Season 17, Episode 1, and what came after
In 2025 my dad and I walked into the Tank to pitch the shoe company my grandfather started in Albuquerque in 1995.
Season 17, Episode 1. I'd rehearsed the pitch 200 times, and my heart rate hit 185 before we walked in.
We left with a deal with Lori Greiner, and a company that did $11 million a year before 2008 and $1.4 million last year now has a real shot at its next chapter. I'm the third generation and next in line, and I'm not going to pretend that isn't heavy.

Twelve years of marketing, and the mistakes to prove it
Before I came home, I spent a decade in marketing: higher ed at Fort Lewis College and UC San Diego, agency work at Consumer51 and Spinfluence for universities, government, and nonprofits, a master's from Penn State, and a few years running my own consultancy from three countries.
Now I run ecommerce, marketing, product, and customer support for a footwear brand, which means I've made every mistake I'll warn you about. I take on a small number of consulting projects a year.

I grew up a small-town New Mexico girl, left for 11 years, and came home in late 2023 with a very specific mission: fall back in love with this place and write down everything I find.

Six Years Abroad
I started this blog in 2018 to document our adventures overseas. My husband Rasmus was playing professional basketball, and we were moving countries every few seasons: Denmark, Australia, New Zealand. Life was beautifully unpredictable. I worked remotely in marketing and soaked up every chance to explore.

Coming Home
In late 2023 we moved back to the U.S. and started planting roots in Albuquerque, relearning what home feels like one hike, coffee shop, and slow Saturday at a time.

Mama + Co
Our daughter arrived in 2025 and changed everything, in the best way. I'm a working mom, Rasmus is her stay-at-home dad, and we're both leaning into this big, beautiful season of change.
This space is still about curiosity, culture, and storytelling, but now it also holds room for motherhood, identity shifts, the family business, and the messy magic of returning home. I'm passionate about honest writing, finding your people, and living with purpose.
