How to Find a Mom Group in Albuquerque
I eventually found my mom group here in Albuquerque, and they've meant everything. But it took months, and I only managed it because I had the energy to keep looking. In Denmark, a nurse simply puts you in a group of six to eight mothers nearby who gave birth around the same time. Here, nobody mentioned anything of the kind. So I built it — a free tool for New Mexico moms that matches you with 6–8 local moms whose babies are close in age to yours. No app, no account, nothing

Intermittent Fasting Results | Here's What Happened
Intermittent fasting has become hugely popular in the last decade and boasts benefits including improved mental clarity, weight, and body fat loss, increased growth hormone, improved fat burning, reduced inflammation, and increased life expectancy. I have always been interested in manipulating my diet for increased health benefits; for the last six years, I've mainly eaten a dairy-free, gluten-free diet. But the idea that by fasting you give your body space to recover and reb

Group Fitness Classes in Danish | Fail
So I've been in Denmark roughly three months. And I've found myself a fantastic gym, FitnessWorld. The membership is $40 USD a month, and they give me free protein each time I finish a workout. I'd say it's a bargain, and I really can't complain. Ras and I are getting married within the year, so wedding training is in full swing! I have always been a group fitness type girl. I love the social aspect. And I have to say, I really enjoy the intergenerational/coed atmosphere. I a

Post Half Marathon Update
223/812 That is the place I took in this race: 223. I'll take it. 223rd place has never felt so good. Average pace 9:35 per mile. I just wanted to cross the finish line. Training for a half marathon has been a great experience. To be able to commit to something, and follow a training plan step-by-step and succeed, feels incredible. I was hoping to finish my half marathon in under 2 hours and 30 minutes, I actually finished at 2 hours and 5 minutes! I hit my goal and some.

Six Reasons I Love CrossFit
Definition: Cross·Fit ˈkrôsˌfit/ noun trademark noun: CrossFit; noun: Cross Fit a high-intensity fitness program incorporating elements from several sports and types of exercise. "I thought I was strong until I tried to do CrossFit" Everyone knows about CrossFit, your friend does it, your aunt, your brother, uncle, daughter, neighbor etc. So you've heard of it. And for some weird reason it gets a bad rap for injuries. All weightlifting can be dangerous if you don't take the

How to Train for a Half Marathon: ex college athlete goes rogue!
Okay, full disclosure, I've never been much of a runner. BUT I've always been an athlete. I played Division II college volleyball and have cross-trained my entire life. I basically live for the weight room, and am currently loving the CrossFit gym. This September I am serving as the maid of honor in my best friend Lexi's wedding, and in an act of solidarity, I told her I'd run a half marathon with her. What kind of best friend would I be if I didn't?! If you are committed,
