How to Find a Mom Group in Albuquerque
I eventually found my mom group here in Albuquerque, and they've meant everything. But it took months, and I only managed it because I had the energy to keep looking. In Denmark, a nurse simply puts you in a group of six to eight mothers nearby who gave birth around the same time. Here, nobody mentioned anything of the kind. So I built it — a free tool for New Mexico moms that matches you with 6–8 local moms whose babies are close in age to yours. No app, no account, nothing

The Best of Oaxaca, México
Pronounced “Wa-hak-ah" Oaxaca is known for its authentic Mexican cuisine and is considered the cultural hub of México by many. I probably ate five different types of bugs over the three days we were there, of those I remember: grasshoppers, worms, and beetles. Did you know México has over 35 million visitors per year? Tourism is one of its main sources of income. I have been to Mexico a few different times in my life. I normally visit the touristy outskirts of the countr

5 Things to See in Puebla, México
Puebla, Mexico Puebla is a lovely city to visit, it feels very quaint and personal. I love the Mexican people. Unlike many countries, one of the best things about visiting is that the locals love to engage with you. Tourism is valued in their country, so oftentimes locals chatted with me and endured my less than perfect Spanish, to give me recommendations and advice. So far, I’ve learned some interesting things! Puebla is considered one of the nine “pueblos magicos” or magic

48 Hours in Mexico City
My mom, sister, and I spent the last 48 hours in Mexico City. And I loved it! I was surprised by how easy the city is to get around. I recommend using Uber, it was super easy and convenient - who would have guessed! However most drivers don't speak English, so if your Spanish isn't strong you may struggle a bit. Mexico City We stayed in the center of the historic district by the zócalo, at the Zócalo Central Mexico City, which was relatively affordable for $170 a night. $17

Post Half Marathon Update
223/812 That is the place I took in this race: 223. I'll take it. 223rd place has never felt so good. Average pace 9:35 per mile. I just wanted to cross the finish line. Training for a half marathon has been a great experience. To be able to commit to something, and follow a training plan step-by-step and succeed, feels incredible. I was hoping to finish my half marathon in under 2 hours and 30 minutes, I actually finished at 2 hours and 5 minutes! I hit my goal and some.

9 Podcasts For Your Next Road Trip
In all of my travel the last two years, I've gotten really into podcasts. Podcasts are the best use of your time when you are stuck sitting for hours. I often compare podcasting to meditating, both exercises allow your brain to shut off for a while and consider other ideas. I love podcasts that challenge my thinking, teach me new things, make me laugh and inspire me. I aim to podcast at least two hours per week. I start each morning with Up First by NPR, to get all of the wo

Your 20s: The Defining Decade
The Defining Decade: Why Your Twenties Matter and How to Make the Most of Them Now By Ph.D. Meg Jay I recently read this book for one of my classes. You Are the Social Media You Consume
My question to you- is your social media working for you? On average people spend 2 hours a day on social media. Are you being passive and passively consuming media that pops up in your feed? Or are you CREATING your experience? Have you ever heard, "you are who your friends are"? I love that. I also love, "you are the sum of your closest five friends." I'd suggest that also, YOU ARE THE MEDIA YOU CONSUME. My social media platforms of choice are Instagram, Facebook, Pinte

Six Reasons I Love CrossFit
Definition: Cross·Fit ˈkrôsˌfit/ noun trademark noun: CrossFit; noun: Cross Fit a high-intensity fitness program incorporating elements from several sports and types of exercise. "I thought I was strong until I tried to do CrossFit" Everyone knows about CrossFit, your friend does it, your aunt, your brother, uncle, daughter, neighbor etc. So you've heard of it. And for some weird reason it gets a bad rap for injuries. All weightlifting can be dangerous if you don't take the
